The Senior Adabas/Natural Developer will coordinate team activities and lead the maintenance and enhancement of a company’s applications.
Work with business users to define requirements, priority and estimate efforts for application or enhancement for development;
Conduct analysis, design and develop the application or enhancement;
Support new initiatives to modernize the legacy applications and integrate the legacy application to other company's application through integration platform.
Maintain and support existing applications;
Develop new queries and reports;
Develop and create test data and to execute performance tests;
Assist in defining data conversion requirements and strategy, develop conversion programs and perform conversion unit tests;
Conduct unit and system integration testing, diagnose faults and determine corrections;
Assist in defining performance testing strategy;
Prepare documentation of the completed application and programs; and
Develop user reference and technical reference documents.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the design and development of applications using Software AG's NATURAL Programming Language and ADABAS Database Management System on the Mainframe.
Preferably with experience in the application integration with other applications off the mainframe, e.g. Oracle, Sybase, MS Applications, etc.
The analyst/programmer must have the following basic knowledge:
- Entity-relationship diagrams
- Desktop applications such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office Applications
- Software AG’s Natural Programming Language
- Software AG’s Database Management System
- IBM Mainframe Operating System
- IBM Mainframe Job Control Language
